26600083B - MNA415P - Ex Post office Telephones 1-Ton
Now owned by Ketil, this vehicle is currently undergoing repair before a gradual rebuild/reconditioning to original Post Office Telephones condition. The vehicle has been identified as a 1973 1 Ton "Generator Self Mobile No.1" and was the 2nd of a batch of 3 1 Tons, the first of 2 Series 3's ordered by the Post Office Telephones. It was originally Golden yellow and fitted with a PTO driven 10kVA Single Phase Generator, together with an oil cooler and special engine governor for continuous use when stationary. It was then registered in 1976 after spending the first 3 years of its life at the Yeading Central Repair Centre being fitted out, then sent to the Manchester depot, along with its sister vehicle MNA 416P. The pair being used as experimental coaxial cable jointing vehicles.
